RANKS, ROLES, AND ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
We would very much like you to try your best to meet activity requirements, but we understand that life takes priority. If you are going to be busy or inactive, please send staff a heads-up so we can mark it down for future reference.
If you are of a High Rank, you may skip your required threads up to two (2) times in the span of six (6) months as long as you let staff know. If you have to skip more than 2 times in that time-frame, your position may come under review. This is nothing personal against you─given their importance in Clan life, we simply need High Ranks to be consistently active. Of course, we will work with you as best as you can, as we'd really hate to have you give up a role you worked hard for.
LEADER
The cats that StarClan puts their trust in to lead, guide, and care for their descendants. They are the face of the Clan, and make the decisions that keep the Clan running—where to hunt, when to fight, when to ask for help or aggress an enemy. While they have the most authority in the Clan, they too are not exempt from the judgement of StarClan, and corrupt leaders can and have been ousted from their position by their Clanmates.
The leader's chosen second-in-command and their successor. They assign patrols, oversee the collective progress of apprentices, and provide additional insight to the leader on activities happening in the Clan. If the leader cannot, for any reason, perform their duties, the deputy can take over in their stead.
The cats that are the Clans' living bridges to the ancestors and to the wind. They are not bound by the warrior code and instead have their own rank-specific code. The health of the Clan is in their paws, though the majority of their duties involve keeping their senses open to StarClan. After all, signs are everywhere, and they're not just for once-in-a-lifetime prophecies. Healers help the Clan make informed decisions by relaying predictions of the future, based on their ancestors' collective wisdom and far-reaching sight.
A spin on the usual "perma-queen" role found in canon, and heavily inspired by the Warriors Redux Iterum. These large mollies guard the nursery from the outside at all times, helping to raise the kittens inside and keep the queens from spiraling into distress. They are sought for advice, have a little knowledge in herbalism, and keep tabs on their Clan's dynamics. It is said that StarClan gifts them a special kind of strength that they use to defend their charges, and should they fall in battle, they will bring their enemies with them. Not even a leader can stop a raging matriarch─and they know not to try.
The bulk of a Clan's numbers are warriors. They hunt for and defend their Clanmates, and they train the next generation of warriors in the ways of the Clans. Bound by the warrior code, a cat will serve as a warrior for the rest of their life or, if they are lucky enough to survive that long, until they retire.
A cat that is expecting or nursing kittens. They stay in the nursery to care for their kits, though they may be allowed to participate in patrols again if their kits are nearing apprentice age. Queens are dangerous when their little ones' lives are at stake, and will fight with the ferocity of a thousand suns to keep them safe.
The youth of the Clan. A cat is usually made an apprentice once they reach six (6) moons and their training generally lasts from two to three seasons (6-9 moons). They are learning the ways of a warrior from their mentors.
The future of the Clan. Kits are granted the fullest protections possible by the warrior code, regardless of their origins. The Clans hunt and fight to ensure that they are able to live in their youth and find themselves.
The wisest cats of the Clan who have survived long enough to earn their rest. The authorities of the Clan will often consult those who have seen the most. Elders will also contribute to the raising of the next generation, telling stories (based in history or not) to kits and apprentices and offering guidance to warriors. Most of all, though, elders are expected to relax.
OUTSIDER
Clanless cats that roam the outer lands. A loner, a rogue, or a cat from a neutral colony, these cats mostly know to stay away from the Clans and their strange, regimented ways. Every now and then, though, one comes around and leaves a drastic impact on the Clans.
