RECEIVING A MENTOR
If you create a character that is starting off as an apprentice, staff will automatically assign them a mentor. You will be pinged in the Discord when your character is accepted and you will be informed who your mentor is.
If you adopt from a litter or create a character who is a kit, their Clan's leader will assign them a mentor once they are of age. You will receive a ceremony. Leaders, please be sure to ping all RPers involved so that they may stay informed.

TRAINING THREADS
According to the Ranks & Requirements guide, you must participate in a training thread once an IRL month until the character is named a warrior. Apprenticeships usually last two to three seasons, so three to four threads are required for an apprentice to graduate.
A training thread is one in which the apprentice is learning about warrior life. This can involve hunting, sparring, patrolling, learning Clan history, helping the elders, etc. Swimming, climbing, and tending are also Clan-specific skills an apprentice must learn. As long as the apprentice is getting closer to graduation, it counts. Kitten steps!Healer apprentices train for much longer than warriors, and so four to five threads are required before they receive their name. However, unlike warriors, healers are considered apprentices for as long as their mentor is still in position. It's a tough job.
Healer apprentices do not learn to fight. They may passively pick up skills from observing warrior apprentices, but they must keep their gaze starward. Healer apprentices will generally know a sign from StarClan when they see it, as it is intuitive to them, but they need to learn how to interpret it from their mentor. They will also learn the many different herbs available to them and how to treat injuries and sicknesses as best as they can. They may also work in tandem with the Clan's matriarch.
INACTIVE MENTORS & APPRENTICES
If your mentor's roleplayer is inactive for a month, please contact staff so that we may assign you a new one.
If you try to contact them but they don't have time to write, you can ask for a new mentor if you do not want to wait. We encourage you to try and work something out instead of immediately asking for a replacement.
If you try to contact them but they ignore you, ask a staff member to message them to ensure that they know your character is their apprentice and that they did not just miss your message. If they continue to ignore you, you may ask for a new mentor.
An inactive apprentice will be archived and they will be removed from the allegiances as your apprentice. Please do not assume the apprentice to be dead or missing without their roleplayer's consent.
